School readiness at bullfrogs

Bullfrog’s School readiness program starts from the moment your child is enrolled to the day your child goes to school. All children are encouraged to participate independently and as a group. Self thinking and following centre values are encouraged as are self help skills.

The year prior to going to school ‘Bullfrog Big Kids’ participate in a three area school readiness program. Please note below what we will explore.

Self awareness

  • our body is our body
  • using words to communicate
  • the fine detail of toileting
  • basic emotions

Group awareness

  • sitting, listening and participating in longer group      times
  • following rules and why
  • consideration of others
  • playground play skills

Community awareness

  • school visits to Engadine West Public school
  • who are the people in a school
  • what will you find at school
  • shop excursion
  • road safety and stranger danger, which includes an      excursion
  • differences in our community
