Transition to School

At Bullfrog Children's Centre, school readiness isn't just a short program—it starts from day one! 

Our Transition to School Program begins the moment your child enrols and continues until the day they head off to primary school. We encourage all children to participate both independently and within groups. Our curriculum actively fosters critical thinking, alignment with centre values, and self-help skills.

In the year prior to school, children engage in deep, project based learning where we research their unique questions, theories, and inquiries. We also focus on fundamental areas essential for a smooth transition to primary school which include:

Self-Help & Awareness

• Body safety and personal boundaries
• Expressing needs and feelings confidently
• Independent toileting and hygiene routines

Social & Group Dynamics

• Sitting, listening, and contributing during group times
• Learning why rules keep us safe and fair
• Practicing kindness, inclusion, and playground games

Our Local Community

• Transition visits to Engadine West Public School
• Weekly Bush Kindy in our local area
• Outings to local shops and learning about community helpers
• Practical road safety and "tricky situations" community excursions
• Cultural and educational incursions
